This latest version of EH40/2005 Workplace exposure limits has been updated to include the new and revised workplace exposure limits (WELs) as introduced by the Carcinogens and Mutagens Directive (EU) 2017/2398 amending Directive (2004/37/EC). It will guide those responsible for controlling exposure to hazardous substances at work.

The HSE published WELs (Workplace Exposure Limits) in a document called EH40 which is available on the HSE website. As well as changes to some of the WELs, the following toxic substances have been re introduced into EH40 Nitrogen Monoxide (NO) Nitrogen Dioxide (NO2) and Sulphur Dioxide (SO2).
